What happens after you book?

  1. 20-minute call

    Show us the report and where its numbers come from. You leave with an estimate and a start date.

  2. Quote and data check

    The quote is free. The first paid step is a data quality check, taken off the price if you move ahead with the build. If the report doesn’t exist yet, we agree what it should show first.

  3. Agree and build

    You get written findings and a data cleaning estimate. Once you approve, we fix or rebuild it, and you check it once against the old version.

  4. Live

    Most reports are live in 3–6 weeks, and simple fixes take days. It runs on a schedule or when you start it, and what we build for you is yours.

FAQ

What people ask before they book.

Do we pay for a quote?

No. The quote is free. The first paid step is a data quality check of the data the report uses, taken off the price if you move ahead with the build: you get written findings and a data cleaning estimate, and nothing else starts until you approve. On a Fix, the check is part of the price. If the report doesn’t exist yet, or people disagree about what it should show, scoping comes first: $750 for half a day or $1,500 for a full day, also taken off the price.

How long does Reporting Automation take?

Most reports take three to six weeks from kickoff to the first automated run. Some are quicker: one report from one clean source can be days. We won’t know which yours is until we’ve seen what feeds it, and the date goes in writing with the quote.

Does the report run by itself?

It runs whenever it’s started, and takes minutes. Most businesses have their IT schedule it on a machine that stays on, so it arrives on its own every week or month. Anyone with access can also run it when they need it. We can install it for you, or walk your IT through it.

Do we need to change our software?

Usually not. If the numbers sit in a database or another system we can reach, we connect to what you already use. If they’re somewhere we can’t get to, the way that data is captured may have to change, and we tell you that before you pay anything.

What happens when the report needs to change?

It depends on the change. Another column or a new filter is small. A source system that starts exporting differently, or a report that has to be restructured, is a bigger job. Either way it gets a fixed quote before we touch anything. On MyDataAnalyst’s On-Call tiers, small changes like a new column come out of your monthly allowance. If you want someone to call when it stops working, MyDataAnalyst starts at $500 a month.

Who owns the result?

You do, once it’s paid for. The reports, the queries, and the documentation we build for you stay with you. Some of it runs on tools we’ve refined across many projects. Those stay ours, and you get a permanent license to use and change them. Nothing depends on us staying.
